Three bedrooms on Provo, with Thursday night free

Stubbs Diamond Plaza in The Bight, Providenciales, on a Thursday evening during the weekly Island Fish Fry, with food stalls and strings of lights

If you want a true three-bedroom villa from our Providenciales list, the one that matches on the nose is the Boat House Three Bedroom in Long Bay Hills: three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, sleeping six, with two kings and a twin room across three storeys of marina-front house. Everything else we'd put in front of a Fish Fry group is a four-bedroom or larger, which is a fine answer if your six people would rather have a spare room than a tight fit, and a bad answer if you're pricing strictly by bedroom count.

The Fish Fry itself is the easy part of this trip. It runs Thursdays at Stubbs Diamond Plaza in The Bight, entry is free, parking runs about fifteen to twenty dollars, and the music starts around six with a Junkanoo parade later in the evening. It moved there from its old Bight Park home a few years back, so if you're working from an older guidebook, check the address. Fifteen-odd vendors set up: Blue Hills Native Cuisine, Froggies on Da Beach, Uncle Dough's, Middle Caicos Café. The fried fish is seasoned simply, with lime and salt and pepper, and the queues are longest for the stalls people already know.

Why the Boat House works for a Thursday-night group

Long Bay Hills sits on the southeast side of the island, so you're driving to The Bight rather than wandering over, which is fine: it's a short hop across Provo and you'd want a car on this island anyway. What the Boat House gives you is the right shape of house for six adults who are out late one night and lazy the next morning. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is the detail that decides more trips than people admit, and the kitchen is a proper one with a dishwasher, a washer and dryer, and an oven, not a condo kitchenette with two pans.

It's built around the marina waterfront in clusters of no more than ten houses, with a shared community pool, loungers and umbrellas at the centre. The dining terrace looks over the dock. Three storeys means stairs, which matters if anyone in your group would rather not do them twice a day, and it's the one thing I'd flag before you book.

The four-bedrooms worth considering instead

Two of them, and they solve different problems.

Ocean Estate - Reef Four Bedroom, also in Long Bay Hills, puts all four bedrooms in king configuration, each with its own ensuite and a soaking tub or shower, and adds a private pool and hot tub rather than a shared one. Four and a half bathrooms, two storeys, ocean views, and butler service available on request. If your six are three couples, this is the house: nobody draws the short straw on the twin room, and you get your own pool to come back to after the Junkanoo.

Estate Four BR Premier Residence is in Grace Bay, which is the part of the island most people picture when they picture Provo, and it's where the walk-versus-drive question to The Bight gets interesting. Three kings and a room with two double beds, three and a half baths, an oceanfront living and dining room with a terrace, and an outdoor shower off the master terrace. The pool is a community one. Note the building closure: the Estates at Grace Bay Club are shut from 17 August to 18 November 2026 for upgrades, so if your Thursday falls in that window, it isn't an option.

If the group keeps growing

It usually does. Someone's brother decides to come, and suddenly three bedrooms is a maths problem.

Emerald Pavilion sits on a full acre of Grace Bay beachfront, seven bedrooms sleeping fourteen, with a heated infinity-edge pool in a 4,200-square-foot beachfront pavilion, a sunken firepit that seats twenty, alfresco dining for twelve, and a private dock. Four bedrooms are kings in the main house, with a separate two-bedroom guest cottage. There's a media room with surround sound and a fitness room, and two floodlit tennis courts and two pickleball courts shared, just across the road. Concierge, housekeeper and private chef come with it. And it can be rented with fewer bedrooms, which is worth asking about if you want Grace Bay beachfront without paying for seven rooms you won't use.

Further along the same stretch, Sentosa and Seafire are eight-bedroom beachfront houses at the Grace Bay end, and Sea Breeze Estate is directly on the sand in Leeward. These are properly large houses for sixteen, not stretched versions of a small one. If you're a six, ignore them. If you're a wedding party, start here.

Grace Bay or Long Bay: the choice underneath the bedroom count

This is the decision that actually shapes the week. The Fish Fry is in The Bight, which sits in the Grace Bay neighbourhood, and most Grace Bay accommodation is a five to ten minute drive from Stubbs Diamond Plaza depending on exactly where you start. From the far end of Grace Bay people do walk it. From Long Bay Hills, on the other side of the island, you're driving, and you'll want a designated driver or a taxi, because the rum punch at the Fish Fry is not a token gesture.

What you get in Long Bay Hills in exchange is quiet and water. The Boat House has a private dock rated for a boat up to twenty-six feet, and Long Bay Beach is the island's kiteboarding water: shallow, flat, consistent wind. Grace Bay is the postcard beach and the restaurants and the shops, and it's where you'll spend less time in a car.

One more thing about The Bight, since you're going anyway: Da Conch Shack out in Blue Hills is the other local institution on this island, on a different side of Provo entirely, and it's a lunch rather than a dinner.

What to send us so we can answer properly

Calendars on Provo villas move fast and most of these houses need availability confirmed before a booking goes through, so the useful thing is to tell us the shape of the trip rather than just the dates. Specifically:

  • Your exact nights, and which Thursday you're building around.
  • How the six (or eight, or fourteen) break down: couples, kids, anyone who'd rather not take stairs.
  • Private pool or shared. This is the single biggest divider between the Boat House and the Reef Estate.
  • Whether you want a chef some nights. Most groups cook two, eat out two, and want a chef for one.

We'll come back with what's actually open for those nights and what the whole week costs: villa, taxes, fees, staff, food, cars, transfers, activities and gratuities, before you commit anything. The same person who prices it books it and is on the phone if something goes sideways at eleven at night. We only put forward houses we've inspected or that a partner on the island has inspected recently. There's no booking fee to you.

The rest of it, airport transfers, the grocery order waiting in the fridge, a table somewhere good on the nights you're not at the Fish Fry, a boat day while the wind's right, we'll handle from here. Tell us when you're coming.
