VILLA AQUA, Playa del Carmen

From indoor palm trees and woodfired ovens to squash courts and lounge pits, the pop-art quirkiness of this 6-bedroom villa in Playa del Carmen gives you something most holiday rentals can’t – a sense of fun materialized in every detail.

Designed with a cubist flair and unafraid of adding a touch of color, Villa Aqua combines lush outdoors with interiors full of refreshing details. The moat-like swimming pool wraps around the main turret, where an indoor palm tree adds dimension to the double-height spaces and the panoramic views you can enjoy from the living room. The kitchen is equipped with professional-grade appliances, while the dining table can sit up to 16 people.

Outdoors, framed by the handsomely manicured garden, guests will find a jacuzzi, an alfresco dining table, a woodfired pizza oven, and even a sunken trampoline. The residence also has a fully-equipped gym and a squash court. And then there’s the game room, with a stocked bar and a lounge pit with a large TV screen.

Lastly, the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, each with its own bathroom. The master suite boasts a free-standing bathtub too. Further, the home is located in Playacar, the city’s most exclusive neighborhood, about a 15-minute walk away from the beach and the famous Quinta Avenida. Overall, Villa Aqua promises a fun experience for travelers seeking privacy in a unique vacation home.

• This can be rented as 4, 5 or 6 bedrooms.
